I listened to this song tonight for the first time in what feels like years and it threw me back into an era of my life where longing was all I did: for romance, for danger, for something wild I'd never experienced – something like love, something called love.
It made me smile, the thought of sighing in my bed in my apartment downtown, looking at all those sparkling lights that seemed to promise me nothing... longing, just wishing he was my boyfriend, the idea of "he" as obscure as the painting on my living room wall.
It just makes me smile.
